For our team, This Works is not just our name it's our promise, and we can say this thanks to the rigorous testing our products go through - from functional MRI and clinical testing, to user panels. In this video our CEO, Dr Anna Persaud, explores our brand story and shares how our commitment to science, innovation, and customer wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

As a science-first brand, we take a multidisciplinary approach, drawing upon the disciplines of biochemistry, neuroscience and the social sciences to guide our content and product development processes.
As early pioneers in the field of neurocosmetics, we’ve been working with Professor Gaby Badre (MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Neuroscientist & Medical Doctor) since 2017. Professor Badre and his team at Swedsleep Sweden have conducted a suite of studies on our behalf, including functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)and EEG to measure brain activity, and polysomnography and neurography to measure sleep activity in a clinical setting published peer reviewed paper. (Chem. Percept. 13 93—105 (2020) Ackerley, R., Croy, I., Olausson, H. et al.). This pioneering research has led to the development of This Works Functional Fragrances.

Deep Sleep
Our Deep Sleep Functional Fragrance was shown to activate areas of the brain associated with emotions, pleasure and calmness, demonstrating the potential to encourage a pre-disposition towards sleep.*
Perfect
The Functional Fragrance in our Perfect range was shown to activate areas of the brain associated with reward, memory and emotion.**
In The Zone
Our In The Zone Functional Fragrance was shown to activate areas of the brain associated with memory and focus, specifically related to verbal and spatial memory, attention and alertness.***
Since day one, This Works has been built on the founding principle of equality, and has sought to operate without prejudice - in our workplace and through the products we create. We believe beauty brands can play a powerful role in society, which is why we collaborate with clinical psychologists to ensure our products and content provide a positive benefit to our community. We believe in being straightforward, honest and real. We do not make false promises and we think that creating intelligent products that deliver on their promise is more important than jumping on the latest bandwagon.
